16U Fall Tryout
Sunday, September 6th - 6:00pm - 7:30pm at HTA School
17U & 18U Fall Tryout
Sunday, September 6th - 7:30pm - 9:00pm at HTA School
School Sports Alberta policies stipulate student-athletes on a High School Senior Varsity team may participate in club tryouts on August 30, August 31, September 6, 7, & 13. Student-Athletes who participate with non-school teams on any other dates between August 31 and November 28 will be ruled ineligible for School Sports Alberta volleyball competition. Check with the school’s athletic director for any local league restrictions that may apply
14U-15U Signing Period per Volleyball Alberta: Tryouts may be held starting on Saturday, September 12 and ending Sunday, September 20

Drayton Valley Royals Volleyball Club will participate in the FALL & WINTER TRYOUT period according to the guidelines of Volleyball Alberta. Tryout dates are outlined by Volleyball Alberta as per the 2026-2027 Signing and Tryout Process, which can be viewed here. Official offers (LOI) will be emailed to athletes soon after a tryout session.
Important Tryout Information
All athletes trying out for a club team are required to enroll as a member in the Member Registration Portal for Volleyball Alberta. Choose the option "2026 Youth Development Player – Tryout". Then choose our region - Yellowhead/Blackgold. If you have more than one child registering, you will need to register them individually.

12U Athletes born from September 1, 2014 to Dec 31, 2015 (16 months).
13U Athletes born from September 1, 2013 to Dec 31, 2014 (16 months).
14U Athletes born from September 1, 2012 to Dec 31, 2013 (16 months).
15U Athletes born from September 1, 2011 to Dec 31, 2012 (16 months).
16U Athletes born from September 1, 2010 to Dec 31, 2011 (16 months).
17U Athletes born from September 1, 2009 to Dec 31, 2010 (16 months).

If you are new, you will be prompted to create a login for SportLoMo. Otherwise, please use your existing login information from previous years. Don't forget to make a note of the Membership ID# you are given from the information above as you will need it later to complete your tryout registration.
LOI (letter of intent)
Volleyball Alberta guidelines state an offer (LOI) must be honoured by the club for a MINIMUM 48 hours. This means that athletes have 48 hours from the time the offer was given to accept or decline. They can even request an extension if they require more time to make their decision.
