Nicole Hudson
Head Coach - U17
NCCP Trained - 6 years of coaching
Coaching Philosophy & Plan
I like to focus on player and team development, player confidence, team work, and working hard to help create a positive, competitive environment amongst the players on and off the court.
I want players to continue to develop their technical skills, while learning how to compete, communicate, see the floor, and support one another. I like to create a challenging, positive environment for players to learn and help them play with a positive attitude regardless of the outcome.
My coaching plan will focus on building a strong, foundation of individual skills, team systems and skills, communication among the team, increasing volleyball IQ as well as instilling importance of player, family and community support throughout the season.
My goals are for players to compete the season feeling they have improved as a player all while gaining leadership skills and a strong sense of team.

Crystal Schultz
Head Coach - U16 Schultz
NCCP Trained - 2nd year head coach
Coaching Philosophy & Plan
I believe in a highly intentional, development‑focused approach to coaching both as a team and individuals. Through the season, I run many structured team clinics with outside skill coaches to strengthen fundamentals, build confidence, and support athletes in reaching the next level.
I prioritize both home and away tournaments to help athletes build team chemistry, learn to compete together, and apply what we work on in the gym to real game situations.
My coaching emphasizes purposeful reps, clear communication, and I place strong value on trust, accountability, and positive team dynamics.
Ultimately, my goal is to develop strong individual athletes while also teaching them how to rely on one another and contribute to a successful, connected team and community overall.

Mitch Morin
Assistant Coach - U16 Schultz
NCCP Trained - 2nd year assistant coach
Coaching Philosophy & Plan
My coaching approach is rooted in commitment, teamwork, and steady athlete development. I believe athletes should feel supported, challenged, and confident, and work to build a positive team culture where hard work, accountability, and communication matter.
Above all, I want athletes to enjoy the game, support each other, and grow on and off the court.
Fun Fact
Originally from Ontario, Mitch has played so many sports that choosing a favourite is impossible - volleyball, track, baseball, hockey, basketball, badminton, and more. And while he’s a lifelong athlete, everyone who knows him agrees his real superpower is reliability. He’s the guy who shows up, works hard, and gets things done.

Team dynamics are key to playing and enjoying the game. My coaching would be geared towards inter-personal skills, communication verbal and non-verbal, understanding the challenges and performance under pressure.

Emily Fikkert
Assistant Coach - U15
Coaching Philosophy & Plan
My coaching philosophy is centered around creating a positive, competitive, and supportive environment where every athlete has the opportunity to grow. While developing strong volleyball skills is important, I believe success also comes from building confidence, resilience, communication, teamwork, and a strong work ethic. I want my athletes to feel comfortable making mistakes, learning from them, and challenging themselves to improve.
My goal as a coach is to hold players to high standards while remaining fair, approachable, and encouraging. I will focus on teaching fundamentals, helping athletes understand the game, and providing constructive feedback they can apply. I believe effort, attitude, coachability, and teamwork are just as important as natural talent, and I want to help each player reach their individual potential.
Throughout the season, my focus will be on continuous development and creating a strong team culture built on respect, accountability, communication, and support for one another. I want my team to compete hard and strive to win, but ultimately, I hope each athlete finishes the season as a more confident player, a better teammate, and with a continued love for the game of volleyball.
I played volleyball at a competitive level for several years growing up within school and club. I have a strong passion for the game and every aspect of it. I also enjoy fishing, camping, and taking my dog, Milo, out for mountain adventures! I am looking forward for this season and hope to make a positive impact on the athletes that I get the pleasure of coaching.
